Switzerland Tourism: Find Your Wow Campaign

Problem

For Switzerland Tourism’s final 2018 Digital Campaign, five individual partners (various cities and regions) wanted to highlight farflung activities in their individual destinations, ultimately building awareness for the entire country to a qualified audience of high-income, keen travelers. The challenge for the tourism board lies in creating one campaign that lets each partner shine while tying them all together.

Solution

We developed a digital “trip planner” that allowed users to pick and choose their favorite activities from each destination, creating their own route across the country while exploring each destination’s highlights. This solution allowed users to interact with over 20 activities (not to mention seven hotels) without stepping away from their screen. 

To keep users engaged throughout the entire journey, we folded in a chance to win a trip to Switzerland if they entered their email address at the end—in return for entering the sweepstakes, users received their personalized itinerary via email as a ready-to-book momento.

Results

Over the two-month campaign, nearly 46,000 unique users clicked through the entire journey, planned their individual itineraries, and entered to win a trip. All in all, each user spent an average of 2 minutes and 45 seconds on the site. In terms of the volume of users and cost per acquisition, it was Switzerland Tourism’s most successful campaign of 2018.
