Blast from the Past: 2009 TV Spot for Sector SPDRs

Right after the market crash of 2008, billions of dollars held by investors had still not returned to the market and was parked in CDs or money market accounts, earning little or no interest. In fact, these accounts were costing investors money in fees and other bank charges. Investors still nervous about reinvesting in stocks, were also missing out on opportunities as the stock market was rebounding aggressively.

We created this spot–titled “Itsy Bitsy”–to encourage nervous investors who had left the market and were sitting on the sidelines to reinvest using a sector-based strategy. This would help to diversify their portfolios and minimize their risk.
